Electrogas Malta at Global Awards

Delegates from Electrogas Malta were in London to receive an award at the IJ Global Awards. The black tie gala event, which was held at The Natural History Museum, London, included representitives from organisations based in Africa and Europe.

The awards recognise excellence, achievement and innovation in energy and infrastructure projects across the globe. The ceremony highlights the increased success that governments have enjoyed in diversifying their economies and energy sources.

On winning the award for Best European Power Project of the year, Electrogas Malta’s CEO Franz Doefler said : “It’s an honour for us and for Malta to receive such prestigious international recognition for our ability to deliver and fullfill our obligations to the nation.’’

In 2014 Electrogas Malta won the bid to build and operate a power plant using Liquefield Natural Gas to generate electricity.

The project aims to enhance Malta’s power generation with high efficiency CCGT power plant that will reduce emissions by half and particulate matter by 90 per cent.

Electrogas Malta contines to work hard to provide safe, stable, reliable gas and electricity to Enemalta. The project is currently at an advanced stage of completion.
